About Boffin Lodge
This once thriving harbour has recently been totally renovated and boasts fine cut stone buildings which contain hotels, lively pubs and top quality restaurants. The site on which Boffin Lodge is built was formerly occupied by lodging houses which served the inhabitants of a large offshore island called Inisboffin.
When the islanders sailed into Westport to shop or travel further afield they strolled up from the Quay to find accommodation. Hence this tiny street was christened over time and became known as Boffin Street, a name which it officially holds today.

Clew Bay with it's 365 islands unfolds before you as you stroll from Boffin Lodge to the Quay. Delphi Valley, Irelands best example of rural rugged landscape and one of the most beautiful places on earth, is just a 20 minute drive away.
Travelling there you will pass many of the regions Blue Flag beaches which can be enjoyed by swimming in them during the summer, or used as a stimulating walking area at any time of year. If you are the more active type you can play Westport's 18 hole championship golf course, enjoy local horse riding and trekking, explore the many fine walks in the area, fish in the world famous rivers and lakes nearby or just cast a line offshore down the road. Or maybe you would like to use the town's state of the art water leisure park which boasts a large swimming area for adults plus one for children, a health spa, a modern gymnasium filled with all the latest exercise equipment.
